Welcome to LaurenSilcock.com and to my blog! I'm really excited to be able to share with you about my current projects, as well as let you in on some of my tips for being in pictures and even taking pictures.
When I was about 10 years old, I looked out my bedroom window and saw a beautiful sunset. I wanted to capture what I was looking at so I could see it over and over again. The way the colors blended together, it was like someone had splashed paint in all my favorite colors across the sky. So I decided that I would draw it, exactly as I saw it, and then I would be able to see it as often as I wanted. It didn't take me long to realize that drawing wasn't one of my strongest talents... So I started taking pictures. The first time I felt like a real photographer was during a family trip to Yellowstone. I took rolls and rolls of film and used it all. And although I don't know what happened to most of those images, I still have the pictures that came from one of those rolls. I loved those pictures. I carried them around with me everywhere so I could show people all the "pretty things" that I saw. I have been taking pictures ever since.
I've had a bit more experience now, and learned a great deal about what makes a photo beautiful. I still love to take pictures of landscapes and flowers, but I have expanded my interest to portraits of people. I now also love making people look amazing!
I hope you enjoy visiting my website! Please always feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
Remember to always see the beauty in everything: Every mountain, every flower, every person.

I really like this blog. I wish everyone could see it.
I do love looking at your pictures!
